Enhance your event, meeting or stay in the Texas Hill Country with a visit to one of the area’s most significant historical buildings.  Zanzenberg Storyville was built from 1873-1875 by G. W. Woolls.  It is the oldest building in Center Point and was designed by architect and stone mason Sam Wellborn.  The building has served as a general store, post office, Masonic Lodge and Farmers Mercantile Cooperative.  The upstairs was a favorite meeting place of the Texas Ranger Frontier Battalion during their pacification of the marauding Comanche Indians during the latter part of the 1800‘s. In the mid 20th century it was used as a Ford tractor and implement dealership.  The interiors have been carefully restored with many of the original features, such as the wooden floors, ceilings and limestone walls, being retained and refinished.

The ground floor event center features a commercial kitchen with a dining area that can seat 100 people.  More people can be accommodated by extending the event to the beautifully landscaped backyard which is a favorite location for Spring or Fall weddings.  The grounds are located on 3 acres of property featuring native Texas plants and a private vineyard.

The upstairs level has two double bedrooms with ensuite baths and one bedroom with three single beds and a private toilet.  The bedrooms open out to a large living room, dining room and kitchen.  In addition there are both front and back balconies.

Zanzenberg Storyville is registered on the National Registry of Historic Places, has a  Texas State Historical Marker and received the San Antonio Conservation Society Out-of-Town Restoration award in 2000.  It has been featured in Lone Star Living (Texas Homes & Ranches) by Tyler Beard (Bulfinch Press) and in the March 2003 issue of Country Home.  Moreover, it was the subject of multiple HGTV Country Style show episodes.
